I am so glad that we were able to iron out some of the more confusing details of fair use and copyright law. The distinction of image size and proper use in informational materials when using iconic images will come in handy next year. I forgot however to ask if the rules were the same for the internet as they are for print. Does anyone know if there is a distinction?
This also inspired me to look at more of the legislature in my state that governs high school presses. I found the following two articles on a realivly new bill that was signed last summer. The premis is that the bill will, prohibit a teacher from being "suspended, disciplined, reassigned, transferred, or otherwise retaliated against for acting to protect a student's speech or freedom of press. For example, a journalism adviser could no longer be fired for refusing to try to discover the identity of a student reporter's anonymous source." To find out more please visit these sites.

This seems to be a great stride forward in protecting us and our kids. However, I am no lawyer has anyone from California had to use it?
