Reporting Circles Prove Helpful

During our lunch hour this afternoon, Jill Cassidy's professional expertise proved to be quite beneficial to the development of our story ideas.

As an editor for The Arizona Republic, Jill had some true words of wisdom to impart on us about the writing process in general, and about how to recruit our sources.

Personally, I found the reporting circle to be a great avenue to bounce my ideas off of other individuals. I had all of these thoughts in my head for my opinion story, and they made so much more sense once I got the helpful feedback.

  1. Reporting circles were great! It was great bouncing ideas around, and I also found that many of our presenters seem to repeat the same ideas and key issues. This really drives home what is important. Such as good journalists "have a natural curiosity."
