Excitement and Anxiety in the Foggy City

Hello fellow advisors!
As the school year is winding down, the pace of my life has sped up rather than take on that slowing to a grinding stop. In particular, I am looking at my summer commitments, including meeting all of you lovely people when we convene in Tempe, and it will be a compacted 2 months. After the ASNE institute, I rush back to Stanford for a teaching institute for designing curriculum with 21st Century tools. After that, I am looking forward to getting some Dreamweaver and InDesign training through the Bay Area Video Coalition, and then a week at Adobe for their Adobe Youth Voices program, which we are hoping to continue for our third year of partnership. Some San Francisco high school journalism advisors are also planning a Jumpstart for Journalism day in the Fall to get our students pumped up and geared for the school year.
Underlying all of this running around is the unsettling issue of not knowing what the master schedule will look like for next year, particularly whether I will be able to be the Journalism advisor or if we will even offer Journalism as a course. I am holding my breath and crossing my fingers til I turn blue.
Nevertheless, I am getting very excited about the ASNE institute. I look forward to meeting you all and learning from your knowledge and experience.
